This article answers common questions that customers may have throughout the checkout process when purchasing a Troomi device.


What are my device payment options?


You have the option to purchase the Troomi device in full, or use the 36-month payment plan. For example, the Samsung Galaxy A17 5G could be purchased outright for $249.95, or financed for $6.94/mo, for 36 months.


How do promo codes work?


Promo codes (and referral codes) can only be applied to devices that are financed using the 36-month payment plan. They are invalid when paying for a device in full.

  • For example, using a $100 promo code for a device that costs $249.95 would change the monthly payment to about $4.17/mo, instead of $6.94/mo.


What are the different service plan options?


Do - Allows for calling and basic texting, as well as access to basic apps - $24.95/mo

Dream - Allows for image and group texting, as well as the features from the Do Plan - $29.95/mo

Discover - Allows for unlimited talk, text, and access to Troomi's app store - $34.95/mo

  • With the Discover Plan, you have the option to purchase mobile data. You can add 1GB for $4.95/mo, or 3GB for $9.95/mo.

Can I transfer a phone number from a different carrier to the new Troomi phone?


Yes. Next steps are explained during the checkout process. In order for the number transfer to take place, please ensure the line with the previous carrier is still active.


Does my device come with a warranty?


The extended warranty is optional and can be purchased for $6.95/mo. Please refer to Section 3 of our Terms and Conditions to see what is and is not covered under the warranty: https://troomi.com/terms-and-conditions/ 


What do I pay at checkout, and what are the recurring charges?

For devices purchased using the 36-month payment plan:

  • You would pay for the following at checkout:

    • The first monthly installment of $6.94 (or less, if a promo code is used) for the device 

    • Monthly Regulatory and Administrative fee

    • Service plan (Do, Dream, or Discover)

    • One-time activation fee

    • Optional warranty

    • Shipping

  • Recurring charges would be:

    • $6.94 (or less, if a promo code is used) monthly installments for the device, for 36 months

    • Monthly Regulatory and Administrative fee

    • Service plan (Do, Dream, Discover)

    • Optional warranty


For devices purchased in full:

  • You would pay for the following at checkout:

    • The full price of the device

    • Monthly Regulatory and Administrative fee

    • Service plan (Do, Dream, or Discover)

    • Optional warranty

    • One-time activation fee

    • Shipping

  • Recurring charges would be:

    • Monthly Regulatory and Administrative fee

    • Service plan (Do, Dream, or Discover)

    • Optional warranty


If I select the 36-month device payment plan, what are my payoff obligations if I cancel service before the 36 months is up?


If you choose to deactivate service before paying off your device, you will owe the remaining balance upon deactivation. If you have multiple lines of service, the other line(s) would be unaffected.
