Do I have to activate the phone at the time of purchase?
No. You do not have to activate the phone right away, though you may get reminders from us from time to time to make sure you aren't in need of assistance. If you purchased the phone as a gift, or you just don't feel your child is ready, don't worry - you can activate at any time.
What about billing? If I wait to activate my phone, will I still get charged?
No. Billing doesn't start until you activate the phone and is prorated based on the date of activation. You will not be charged for your selected plan until the phone is activated. You will be billed an activation fee at the time of purchase.
I paid an activation fee when I purchased. Will I get charged another when I activate?
No. The one-time activation fee is billed at the time of purchase. Glad you got that out of the way! You will not be charged again when you are ready to activate the phone. You will only be billed for the monthly plan, and the warranty (if applicable)
What about the warranty? Will I be charged for the warranty even if the phone isn't activated?
No. You will not be billed for the warranty until the phone is activated.
What if I damage the phone before I activate it? Does the warranty still apply?
Yes. If you purchase the warranty, your phone will be covered from the date of purchase.
I activated the phone and it's having trouble. What do I do?
Because Troomi phones check for updates every day, you may have missed a few updates due to the delayed activation. This may cause some startup issues. For this reason, we recommend you don't wait too long to onboard your phone. However, our support team is here to help!
