In this article, you will learn how to back up files from your child’s old Troomi phone to their new one using Dropbox. Dropbox provides a convenient and secure cloud storage solution that allows you to access your child’s data from anywhere. Let’s get started!
Before you get started, make sure your child’s phone is charged and connected to a stable Wi-Fi connection to ensure a successful file transfer.
Step 1: Installing Dropbox on the Troomi Phone
Log into the Parent Portal.
Go to the App settings by selecting “Apps” from the navigation bar.
Open “Basic Apps” and select Dropbox as the app you want to install.
Read and verify the description and disclosure for the Dropbox app.
Ensure your child’s phone is connected to Wi-Fi and click “Install”

Step 2: Setting up Dropbox
Launch the Dropbox app on your child’s old Troomi phone.
Select “Sign up” and create your account by entering your credentials.
If your child is under the age of 13, enter the parents information.
If your child is 13 years or older, enter the child’s information.
Follow the prompts to grant the necessary permissions to complete setting up your account.
Step 3: Backing up Files
Open the Dropbox app on the old Troomi phone.
Tap the “+” (plus) button located at the bottom center of the screen.
Select either “Upload Photos” or “Upload Files” from the available options.
Choose the photos or files you wish to back up from the gallery or file manager.
Tap the “Upload” or “Done” button to initiate the backup process.
Once the upload is complete, log in to your Dropbox account from another device to confirm that the files have successfully uploaded.
Step 4: Restoring Files on the New Troomi Phone
Launch Dropbox on the new Troomi phone and sign in with the account credentials you used to backup the old Troomi phone.
Navigate to the folder where the photos and files were uploaded.
Select the files you want to restore onto the new Troomi phone.
Tap the three dots to the right of the file or folder you want.
Select “Share” and then “Save to this Device”.
