Troomi Apps

There are 5 Troomi Apps that reside on the phone. These Apps are part of the Troomi KidSmart OS.





Updater 

Manages downloading and updating of the Troomi KidSmart OS Apps.


This app must always be running and cannot be closed by the user



Troomi 

This App manages the communication between the phone and the Troomi cloud. This is the main part of the Troomi KidSmart environment.


This app must always be running and cannot be closed by the user




Dialer

Works in conjunction with the Parent Portal Settings and Contacts to manage incoming and outgoing calls.







Messages

Works in conjunction with the Parent Portal Settings and Contacts to manage incoming and outgoing texts.






KidSmart App Assistant

This app works in conjunction with the Troomi App Store to install new apps on the phone.




App Versions

Versioning is important because it gives the user specific information about each app and how current it is. It also allows Troomi to make sure each device has the current software on it.





Check App Versions from the Parent Portal

  1. To check the app version, click on the settings icon next to the UUID on the home page. 
  2. From there you should see the app versions listed for each Troomi app.
These version numbers are updated from the phone each time it communicates to the Parent Portal 














Check App Versions from the Device

From the Main Screen

1.  Long-Press the app icon until the info bubble opens

2.  Touch the "info" icon




3.  Scroll down to see the Version number (it is usually the last item on the screen)

 




From the Device Settings


1.  Go to Settings


2.  Scroll to Apps


3.  Find the App you want to check


4.  Scroll down to see the Version number 







Troubleshooting Syncing Issues

Complete these steps when the phone does not reflect the most updated Parent Portal changes:


1.  Connect to wifi on the Troomi phone:

    a) Go to the Settings app        

    b) Tap "Connections"

   c) Make sure that the Wifi is enabled and you can see the name of your network:

    d) Tap on the Wi-Fi option to configure the wifi settings; if a "current network" is not listed, then the wifi is NOT connected. Tap on "Add Network" or select from the list of networks that will be shown as available.



 

 

2.  Go to the Updater app and tap on Update Troomi

3.  Go to the Troomi app and confirm the phone number and child's name matches the details showing on the Parent Portal  

4.  Contact Troomi support if an error is received in the Updater app or if there is discrepancy with the details showing in the Troomi app and the Parent Portal
